Catepan Strategus Peter Claudius, Duke of Adrianople, EAA CSM MCC GMAV (Vopiscus Claudius Nero Petrus Drusus; 5 December 1826 – 12 November 1914), was a Latin soldier and statesman, born in Adrianople, Latium. Claudius was the first member of his family to serve as Consul since
Claudius was commissioned as a Second lieutenant in the Latin Army in 1848. He served as aide-de-camp to Theophylactus I Augustus in the Imbrosian Rebellion of 1849. A colonel by 1850, Claudius fought in the Gelonian Revolt at the Battle of Ialoinon. He succeeded his father as Duke of Adrianople in 1839 and as a newly appointed major-general won a decisive victory over the Gelonian Rebellion in 1950.
After ending his active military career, Claudius returned to politics. He is only one of two individuals to serve as Consul both before and after the final reforms of Theophylactus. He continued as one of the leading figures in the Senate until his retirement.
