The population of Tava is around x million. Tava is chiefly populated by a highly homogeneous ethnic group, the Tavans, who speak the Tavan language. The Tavans are usually split into two groups, the Möribh,There also exists a significant Tinzan minority, whose origin is hotly debated, numbering around 2 million, who largely inhabit the region of Rishar in western Tava. [[Tai'u]] (Tëllħu) is the largest religion in Tava, practiced by nearly 95% of the population, though only around 25% of the population are actively affiliated with their temples. Most practitioners keep a private shrine in their home, and participate in local and national events, but do not consider themselves actively involved with the religion. It is often considered a union of thousands of local religious sects, rather than a nationally organised religion.
[[Khaturvism]] is largely followed by the Tinzan minority, some of which are members of the [[Cult of Amadawa]]. There has been noticeable influences from Khaturvism on Tai'u, though in the 20th century there were widespread reforms to purge Tai'u of anything considered 'foreign' and so the historical syncretism between the two has largely disappeared.
