The Aquitaynian Army represents the land forces of the Armed Forces of Aquitayne, formed from various militia groups by Parliament in 1741, during the Aquitaynian War of Independence. The formation of these forces solidified Aquitaynian resolve to endure through the conflict and remains one of the oldest fighting forces in Astyria.

Currently, the Aquitaynian Army is currently engaged in operations on Insula Fera, notably the 2013 Invasion of Pangus and the Greater Conflict on Insula Fera. The Army is also assisting the nation of Aswick in combat operations during the Aswickan Civil War.

The Aquitaynian Army encapsulates the spectrum of soldiers that engage in combat operations on the ground. Uniquely, the Aquitaynian Marine Forces, often a separate branch around the world, falls under the jurisdiction of the Army. The Army is also the lead branch when it comes to Aquitaynian Special Forces.

Mission

The Aquitaynian Army serve as the only federally recognized contingent of the professional defense for Aquitaynian territories and property. The current constitution constitutes the Army's mission as:

  • Preserving the peace and security of Aquitaynian territory and its people as far as deemed necessary by His Majesty.
  • Supporting the national policies of His Majesty.
  • Enforcing the national interests of Aquitayne and its allies.
  • Engaging in the active defense of Aquitayne and its allies.
