The 2020 Tregueux Bombing, also known as the Tregueux train station attack, was a terrorist attack committed by al-Fijar on April 19th, 2020 in Tregueux, Zamastan. 32 people were killed and 171 people were injured. The perpetrators, one Jaginistani and two Jiddiyan nationals, detonated suicide explosive vests after a police officer noted their weapons during a security stop at the entrance of the station. The terrorists' intended target, according to the ZIS, were commuter trains headed to various cities across the country. Thus, the explosions were premature and possibly resulted in less casualties than had they occurred as intended.
After the 10/18 Attacks, security had been increased at all major commercial transport hubs in Zamastan like airports, ferry terminals, and train stations. The presence of increased security contributed to the attackers being discovered before they reached their intended targets. Police officer Francois Demalia, who had identified the explosives, was killed in the blast. The casualties were extensive due to the narrow corridors in which they occurred, and the area was crowded due to it being rush hour. Attorney General Arthur Aubert confirmed that the suicide bombers had detonated nail bombs, which increased the injuries on site.
President Foley Sakzi condemned the attack, calling it a "horrific and cowardly act of violence." The attack led the ZIS to conduct more intensive intelligence operations against al-Fijar. Further attacks were soon committed by the terrorist organization against Zamastanian entities internationally, including an attack on a consulate in Haruya, Jaginistan, and the downing of Air Andaluni Flight 553. On September 29th, 2020, al-Fijar leader Mukhtar Babu Ubair was killed in an airstrike in Jaginistan, but attacks continued with the Olivar Street bombing in Tofino in October.
