The 2160 and 2161 championships were won by the Cherry Blossoms, nicknamed the "Breezing Blossoms" for their quick passes and efficient ball movement, defeating the Punks both times. The Cherry Blossoms would go on to win four more consecutive championships to complete a six-peat, defeating the Punks for a third time in a 2165 Angel's Series dubbed the "Last Tango on Hardwood".

The Autumn's Tournament, officially the Green Valley Autumn's Tournament, is the first of two HeavensLeague in-season tournaments, taking place in November. Every team in the league is seeded based on record and participates in a single-elimination tournament bracket to become the "Autumn's Champion". The Autumn's Champion team is granted an automatic playoff berth unless it finishes in the bottom half of its conference.

All-Star Break

From 26 December until the first weekend of January, the regular season pauses to observe the annual HeavensLeague All-Star Break, with the All-Star Game being played on New Year's Eve. Other festivities and events are held on New Year's Eve, including a three-point competition, slam dunk contest, skills challenge, and HORSE competition. Also held during the break are the All-Rookie game, celebrity game, players' rules challenge, tug-of-war, All-Star dodgeball, and game night.

Bell Cup

The Bell Cup Tournament, named after former Commisioner Devante Bell, is the second of two HeavensLeague in-season tournaments, taking place in late February. Every team in the HeavensLeague, Heavenfall Women's Basketball League, and the Crocacino League participate in a single-elimination randomly drawn rounds. The top half of each league, as determined by point differential, is granted a first round bye, the top quarter is granted a second round bye, and the top teams are granted a third round bye. The two teams to reach the Bell Cup Finals play a best-of-three series, with the winner being awarded the Devante Bell Cup. According to HeavensLeague rules, a team in the league winning the Cup is granted an immediate playoff berth unless it finishes in the bottom half of its conference.

Postseason

Near the start of eighteen teams enter the postseason playoffs. These eighteen teams consist of the nine division winners and nine wild-card teams. Playoff berths are granted to division winners, Autumn's Champions, Bell Cup winners, or having one of the top win-loss records in their conference, with some teams occasionally being granted a playoff berth for fulfilling several of thsee requirements. The top two seeded teams in each conference, based on regular season win-loss record, receive a first round bye. Five rounds of basketball are played to determine league champion:

  1. Wild Card Round, a best-of-three games series.
  2. Chancellor's Round, a best-of-seven game series. So named due the regular attendance of Chancellors Devante Bell, Robin Lin, and Michelle Wang.
  3. Conference Championship, a best-of-seven games series.
  4. Judgement Day: a single-game elimination round between the two conference champions with the lowest postseason win-loss records.
  5. Angel's Series: a best-of-seven games series to determine HeavensLeague champion.
