House Palægos is the current royal house of Trellin and Hysera, since 1739, and since 1769 has been the royal house of the Isles of Velar. Its founder, Elcmar IV, was the Duke of Palaegon before his accession on the death of his cousin, Lonaki III Kazdorir.

Origins

The ancestors of Elcmar IV were the dukes of Palaegon, a small town in Idisamo. The first duke, Duchess Ulqienë, was the youngest child of Queen Azara III of House Kazdorir; she married Prince Jantral of Mevirin in 1582, joining House Kazdorir to Mevirin's ruling house. Duke Elcmar, then head of the house of Kazdorir-Tirika, inherited the thrones of Hysera and Trellin when his cousin Lonaki III died without an heir, and he renamed the house after the town Palaegon and in a Greek style as Palægos.
