Biôła Góra (lit. 'White Mountain'; Navish: Hvittfjell) is the highest peak in Ostry, located in the central north of the island. At 497 m (1631 ft), it is one of the highest peaks in the Sturhlundic archipelago outside of Velbri, and is a dormant volcano. On a clear day, the entire island can be seen from the peak.

Geography

Biôła Góra is classified as a shield volcano, and is stated to be dormant, although some geologists state that its last eruption, over 4,000 years ago, may be a sign of it becoming extinct. It is one of the most northern volcanoes in Aeia, and is the site of a permanent geological site funded by the University of Ostry. Due to its nature as the highest peak on Ostry, it has become a symbol of the island since the early 20th century.

Tourism

Since the early 1900s, Biôła Góra has been a site of tourism, and today is now a central location for the Ostric tourism industry. A 3.1 miles-long trail starting from Ùkleja reaches the peak, which since 1916 has been site to a lookout, and is open daily from dusk to dawn. Along the trail is the Biôła Góra Geological Centre, which provides information to guests on Ostry's geological and environmental history, as well as provisions for hikers in the area.
