The Syaran National Forces (Syaran: Националните сили на Сјаран) is a reserve component of the Syaran Commonality Armed Forces. The Syaran National Forces operate as a Military reserve force of the SCAF to provide additional manpower and formations as needed in the event of war or natural disaster. They are a distinct entity from the Realm Guards, who fall under the authority of the Syaran Realm Governments, and the Syaran Strategic Forces, which is an additional reserve component.

The majority of Syaran National Forces members hold jobs in the civilian market the Syaran economy. A small number of RDF members, mostly senior enlisted personnel and officers, form a cadre of full time members who oversee the administrative functions of the force. The Syaran National Forces fall under the Defense Ministry and field reserve elements of the Syaran National Army and the Commonality Air Force. Realm Defense Force units are mobilized every month for a weekend training session, and three weeks during the summer for more extensive training exercises.

The Syaran National Forces consist of 750,000 personnel organized into their own formations across Syara. Per the Commonality's Constitution, the Syaran National Forces cannot be mobilized without the authorization of the High Council of Syara.

History

The outline of the SCAF's reserve system was written into the Commonality Constitution in 1988, but the specifics were not officially detailed until 1992 when the High Council officially created the Syaran National Forces through the National Defense Act, which was signed into law by Executive Saša Mlinarić. The authorized strength for the SNF in 1995 was 150,000 personnel, which was increased to 250,000 following the 1997 Sopron Bombing. Some members of the SNF were mobilized to support the Zemplen Resolution Campaign, but were withdraw after the National Tribunal of Syara found the involvement of the RDF a violation of the Commonality Constitution.

During the Imerti Conflict members of SNF took part in fighting during the Battle of Zapko and the force was officially mobilized by the High Council, but fighting ceased before any significant SNF forces could be deployed. Rising tensions with Ruvelka led to the SNF being expanded to 450,000 troops by 2008, all of which were mobilzied upon the outbreak of the Zemplen War. During the war SNF forces operated on the same level as the active duty forces of the SCAF, taking part in all major battles and operations. Following Syara's defeat, the SNF was reformed under the 2011 Defense Expansion Act, which alloted greater manpower and resources to the RDF in light of Syara's trouble with personnel shortages during the conflict.
