History
Pre-Launch
1985-2003: Kretschmann era
2003-2006: Yuzakawa-Kurasawa era
On May 17, 2003; Kretschmann announced that he'll be leaving AF News Patrol to spend more time with his family as well as to call for his duty. During that time, Kretschmann was one of the only active news presenters at LBC News and AF News Patrol was on the verge of cancellation. However, Kretschmann pointed a 16-year old Reisi Kurasawa as his replacement. At that time, Kurasawa was still in his senior high school and was prepared to graduate to college. However the LBC News refused to allow Kurasawa to present the news as he was too young. Kretschmann knew the boy well since Reisi was his student during the latter's time in a journalism training school. Eventually, Kurasawa was allowed to present with Kretschmann deciding to extend his stay for 6 weeks. Kurasawa had his first broadcast with Kretschmann on June 25, 2003. The AF News Patrol received positive reception for Kurasawa's classy and professional-like presentation. This allowed Kurasawa to receive a schoolarship in his university and graduated by the time he was 19 years old.
In September 15, 2004, Several Universities started to put journalism programs with the AF News Patrol as one of its sponsors. It encouraged students as young as 14 years old to begin training. One of the students who were placed on the training program is Sera Yuzakawa. She agreed to do a broadcast training on AF News Patrol with Kurasawa. The two of them were described as too young to present news but Kurasawa was noted for his mature presentation of the news. Yuzakawa on the other hand gave light to darker news stories. Later, She received a journalist's scholarship that made her broadcast on AF News Patrol as her attainment along with pre-accounting and history. She agreed but made her first true broadcast by November 2004. She and Kurasawa paved way for the "Era of Young Broadcasting". To this day, they remain as LBC News' youngest presenters.
