Operation Typhon, sometimes known as War Plan Kurilla, was a proposed military operation to be carried out by the Republic of Syara during the Ruvelkan Civil War. Various versions of the plan existed, all of which centered around expanding Syaran intervention in the Ruvelkan Civil War to include a general offensive carried out by the Army of the Syaran Republic. The most commonly cited version involved an invasion of western Ruvelka by the Syaran military until the Kurilla Mountains were reached, and thus in some circles became known as the Kurilla War Plan. The plan was intended to restore the historic borders of the Makedonian Empire by pushing the Syaran border to the Kurilla and Matra mountain ranges. Alternative versions involved the Republic backing a specific side of the conflict with the contingency of endorsing Syaran border claims, or otherwise involve the creation of a Syaran-owned client state.

Initially Syaran intervention had been limited to reclaiming Zemplen back from the Ruvelkan Socialist Republic, but after the civil war dragged on there grew an increasing desire among some Syaran political and military leadership to expand the effort towards re-asserting Syaran territorial claims. With the fighting between the Ruvelkan Red Army and the Imperial Separatists devastating Ruvelka, it was assumed that an offensive launched by the better armed and trained Syaran military would be sufficient for defeating both armies. Most estimates required the Syarans to commit somewhere between 1.5-2 million troops, although some were even higher. The date for the plan was never finalized, and only assumed that it would be launched sometime in late 1916 or in 1917.

The plan was not entirely well received within the Syaran Armed Forces Supreme Headquarters for a variety of reasons. Among the most common was the argument that a Syaran invasion had a high chance of forcing the Red Army and Imperial Separatist to put aside their differences and fight against their common foreign foe. Additional voiced concerns argued that none of the factions involved in the civil war were viable candidate for Syaran support, as none of them would be likely to accept Syaran territorial concessions. Others argued that the invasion and occupation of Ruvelka, which was already heavily damaged by the civil war, would require millions of troops and cost billions in Drachma. Any efforts towards realizing Operation Typhon largely evaporated following the outbreak of the Divide War with the Cacertian Empire. Nevertheless, Cacerta's previous support for the Imperial Separatists led to widespread fears in Zovahr that the Cacertians would have the Separatist invade Syara from the east, and as a result more than a million Syaran troops remained stationed on the border until the end of the civil war.
