The Secretary-General is an extremely important individual who wields great influence in the international community. Until the 1960's Secretary-Generals were mostly from Euclea, but since then there has been a growing tendency for Secretary-Generals to rotate between regional groups. The current secretary-general, Gabriela Rădulescu, is the first female and person from Euclea Central to hold the position.
