Overview

The Shodiax League is the primary football league/system in Hiblund, and easily one of the most popular leagues in Anteria. Despite Hiblund's generally small population, the nation can show a lot of talent in their sports, showing particularly in football. The Shodiax League's entire system is host to more than 2,000 clubs spanning over 9 levels and 82 leagues.

History

As the system has been in function for almost 70 years now, there must be some history behind it. That being said, there are many aspects that we'll go through here, although maybe not being the richest in content, a good portion of such will be nonetheless.

Founding

Before the Independence of Frarstizk, which was a former territory of Hiblund, the nation had settled with the Harletical Iede, which was scarce in clubs and diversity, yet was successful anyway. Although it did include a few lower levels of talent, there was no way for them to cross over each other, there being no such thing as promotion and relegation. This was avoided for the simple reason of a type of formality that the league had, and although the controversy was prominent, no changes were ever established. This being said, this league was dominated by well-built clubs, as the less fortunate were left to suffer. So teams like Antres FC, SV Vovilveante, Boylinaruɣaun FC, and VfL Neu Volfsburɣ had a slight momentum head-start. However, after the Independence, the Harletical Iede folded, leaving clubs from there stranded from playing. This would lead to the break in a consistent top football league in Hiblund, commonly known as the Sciedfelt Stretch. During this period, many leagues have popped up here and there, yet not a consistent and famous winner of the title, "Top Football League in Hiblund". With this, many of the previously forementioned clubs in the Harletical Iede had decided that they would wait until they find a promising oreganization. Then, in 1953, Ben Shodiax had gathered up enough funding to start his own league, beginning as just another new league attempting to luer in the key items for success- the teams of the Harletical Iede. Unlike many other attempts, almost all of the jobless clubs of the former league agreed with the policies and liked the personality of Ben, and soon the league was publicised and properly founded. It took a while for the clubs to get back to a good financial status, after all, they had been useless for almost seven years, but it was all worth it and the league was properly titled as the top league in Hiblund (Some of the clubs that had not waited with the others were added later on, either by the 1971 Expansion or the Awlescxairu leagues).

Expansions

Early on in its years, the league had been quite exclusive hosting three levels, the Piruen, Vaitrel, and one league for each 'cardinal direction' region. The increased popularity and future domination of the league would soon require action to be more inclusive. The following excerpts will educate you on the actions made and the reasoning behind them.

1958 Expansion

Only five years after the debut of the league, club admission had become a popular desire by many, as other unsuccessful leagues had folded and unemployed players wanted their jobs back. Ben and other officials acted surprisingly quick to this, starting ideas for solutions back in '56. These executives had decided to evidentually keep the league semi-exclusive, not making admission by any standards simple. Nonetheless, it was officially announced in the '58 offseason that there would be a fourth and fifth level to the system, with permission from each province in Hiblund. The fourth level would have each 'cardinal direction' region split further, with 2-4 leagues as well as 14-16 teams within each region depending on population. Every individual league in a region would have the same probability of advancing to the next level, with one promotion spot to the third level. The fifth level would be subdivided further into provinces, originally including 20 teams in each province (later changed to 30 teams with 2 divisions), then each provincinal champion would play the rest of the provincinal champions within their region in order to advance. Slots for admission would quickly close, as expected, and unlike pessimmistic beliefs, was quite diverse population-wise.

1962 Transfers

I apolopize for the nonexistent flow of this excerpt, I will edit later with better writing.
The second major system change in Shodiax's history, and responsible for many teams you now know so well. As the Shodiax League surpassed more and more expectations of popularity, the more the successful leagues from the Sciendfelt Stretch period became an afterthought. These leagues were dying of this major switch, and the once good teams in these leagues were no longer being supported and successful. Ben Shodiax decided that the right thing to do was to buy off the clubs and, in a way, repay the struggling leagues from their losses. These deals were not broadly accepted, as they came off as being expansion-hungry and inconsiderate, despite the fair intent. However, there were still quite a few leagues that were acceptant of their rapidly declining popularity, and gave up (future) amazing teams to the now thriving Shodiax League. These leagues that ended up accepting to some extent were Xaire, Indoliiov, Norsterlampv, and Cistruine. The clubs that were directly admitted into the league were renamed with their respectful "transfer team" abbreviations to the end of their city name (such abbreviations were XCT, ICT, NCT, and CCT). These abbreviations are reserved only for these clubs, not to be used in any aspect by other Shodiax teams. Shodiax had bought off 10 teams from Xaire, 8 from Indoliiv, and 4 from both Norsterlampv and Cistruine, and gave us teams we now know as Vovilveante XCT, Trinalxii XCT, Vintvenxva XCT, and many other notable clubs from modern times. On top of this controversial maneuver, executives had introduced a sixth level, expanding on the idea of provincinal leagues. They were concieved as direct relegations from the fifth level in each province, however with multiple divisions in order to hold even more clubs. Each one was given 48 new slots to fill, divided up by 3 divisions of 16 teams.
