The Assilic Ciumervaii is a minor tournament between the two nations of Hiblund and Frarstizk, where the top 4 in each nation's primary leage (Shodiax Piruen Iede and Frarstizk A Liig Dofriɣ) have a tournament, and the winner in each league plays each other for the Assilic Kurn. This means that the winner of one league might not even get to the international match, and is certainly not unheard of. Each season takes place the off-season after the qualifiers are confirmed. Results often have the Hiblundiiun finalist winning, however this is not always the case, as Sporting Maegnitersburg is a great club as well. This league was originally established in the year 1961, after Frarstizk's Independence and the split of the Harletical Fiutvel Iede.
Founding
The tournament was founded in the year 1960 by the Heads of Athletic Advisory in both Hiblund and Frarstizk. This took a relatively long time after the independence due to fear of both nations possibly holding fights in the Assilic final. However, after 6 years of the Shodiax being founded and 13 after the whole incident, both nation's governments thought that they could continue holding friendly tournaments again. The name itself means "Alliance Tournament", with the "Alliance" being translated in Frarstizkian and the "Tournament" being translated in Hiblundiiun to further make things right between the two nations. The Shodiax League System and the Frarstizk Liig Dofriɣ both agreed to entering their top four competitors into the tournament, and since then there have been no incidents regarding this league.
Format
To qualify, a club must be in the top 4 of the Shodiax Piruen or the Frarstizk A Liig in their respective seasons. Although it has never happened before, this tournament is voluntary, so a club, in theory, could simply not participate, leaving their seed as a bye. The reason for this sort of thing not happen is the obvious chance of the cash reward for winning.
Clubs are seeded by the nation they represent, meaning that one side of the tournament is only Hiblundiiun clubs and the other is only Frarstizkian. The #1 seed is given to the league winners, #2 seed to the league runner-ups, and so forth. In the National Semi-Finals, the #1 seed will face the #4 at home, and the #2 seed will face the #3 seed at home. Winners move on to the National Finals, which is still only within a single nation's clubs, with the game taking place in a neutral location. The winners of those games will face off in the International Finals, which is always hosted in the border-city between the nations, Vredrelci, which is technically a part of Hiblund. Vredrelci does not have a top-tier football club, and if they did it would not be allowed into the Shodiax or Frarstizk Liigs.
Reach
The fan engagement for this tournament is relatively low, at least for the national rounds. Average attendance for the national rounds are nowhere near the capacity when considering the averade league match, and games on TV's viewership rates are quite low. However, all of this changes when the International Finals Match comes around. They fill Vredrelci Park to the brim, and viewership is higher than the average Piruen match, which is a higher honor than you might expect. Outside Hiblund and Frarstizk, very little international viewership is recognized, which matches the overall care the world has for this tournament.
