Daedalus had initially planned to run as an Independent candidate, though reportedly received offers to run as a member of Alius and Catholic Democratic Alliance, before joining United Latium before the March 9 deadline. He faced no primary opponent, though the incumbent senator, Jordan Avidius, lost in the Progressive primary. Daedalus was polling near 25 to 30% throughout the campaign, and capitalized on a strong final push by the Alius candidate Sophia Erucia, which saw a split between left-leaning voters on election day. Daedalus received 31% on election day, enough to earn a plurality and victory; his closest opponent was Progressive incumbent Jordan Avidius who only earned 29% of the popular vote.
