Elections

Under the Constitution of West Miersa, elections for the Presidency and the National Assembly take place every five years, with exceptions only granted in a state of war, in which case if a war happens to continue into an election year, the election can be cancelled, with the term of all elected officials being extended until the next election.

Elections to 138 of the 230 seats of the National Assembly are done via first-past-the-post, while the remainder of the seats are appointed by the President to serve for life, in order to ensure that what the West Miersan government considers the "eastern voivodeships under Kirenian occupation" are represented in the National Assembly.
