The Blaugold (Hesurian: Blaugold, Cuthish: Blauiwth, Masish Hesurian: Blahult), historically known as the Balunt, is one of the major rivers of Telmeria and Berea at large. The river is the drainage of Lake Sigismund in central Telmeria, traversing the Weißenhaupt and Holnian Mountains, Siebenkreuz, Nältze, Fünferberge and Königsreh Bay in a somewhat northerly direction and eventually emptying in the Mascian Bight of the North Sea at Flussmund. The river's source lies at Gerchlau on Lake Sigismund's shores, 12 kilometers south-west of Mackrau and forms parts of the Holnian-Elpsian, Elpsian-Eustria–Folnery, Aldian-Eustria–Folnery, Eustrian-Folnery, and Shwesian-Nelgery borders in Mascylla. Its total length is about 1,311 km (814.6 mi).
The Blaugold drainage basin, comprised of the Blaugold, its tributaries and those of Lake Sigismund, is the single-largest in Berea, and the Blaugold itself is the fifth-longest river on the continent; it is the longest river to flow entirely within Mascylla. The large rivers Meer, Lanne, Erms, Wid and Stith all form tributaries of the Blaugold through the basin of Lake Sigismund, whereas its actual tributaries include the Dahle, Klahr, Erftel and Marlau. Inhabited by more than 135 million people, the catchment area spans five countries (Temaria, Mascylla, Cuthland, Lilienburg, Rovina, and Valtriva) and contains many of Telmeria's largest cities, including Flussmund, Königsreh, Lansbruck, Lensrau, Konreid, Lilienburg City, Achsburg, Alderport, Newbridge, Whitford, Meerboarg, Grienfijld, Mirkowice, and Aketerina.
