Aldamenean (meaning Side by side) is the national anthem of Lemovicia, adopted upon its declaration of independence from West Miersa following the outbreak of the Miersan War between West Miersa and East Miersa.
History
The music is derived from a traditional Lemovician melody, used for many folk songs.
The lyrics were penned by Luka Barrategui in 1979 on the urging of Ocijote Sasimbarrena, who sought to establish a new national anthem for Lemovicia for the Constitution of Lemovicia, in order to avoid using the Internationale, and risk confusion with Kirenia.
With Barrategui taking inspiration from a traditional Lemovician folk song, and the planned outline of the constitution, he produced the Lemovician version of the song.
Following its completion, the copy was sent to Sasiambarrena, who personally approved it. Thus, in the constitutional convention, Aldamenean was officially named as the new anthem, taking effect on 21 November, 1979.
