Aldamenean (meaning Side by side) is the national anthem of Lemovicia, adopted upon its declaration of independence from West Miersa following the outbreak of the Miersan War between West Miersa and East Miersa.

History

The music is derived from a traditional Lemovician melody, used for many folk songs.

The lyrics were penned by Luka Barrategui in 1979 on the urging of Ociote Sasiambarena, who sought to establish a new national anthem for Lemovicia for the Constitution of Lemovicia, in order to avoid using the Internationale, and risk confusion with Kirenia.

With Barrategui taking inspiration from a traditional Lemovician folk song, and the planned outline of the constitution, he produced the Lemovician version of the song.

Following its completion, the copy was sent to Sasiambarena, who personally approved it. Thus, in the constitutional convention, Aldamenean was officially named as the new anthem, taking effect on 21 November, 1979.

Lyrics

Lemovician Estmerish
First stanza

Aldamenean gure luŕa doakoa da
Gurucetik eta ikastecetik
Hori gure kultura suncicen sajatu zen
Eta gure bizica suncitu!

Side by side, our land is now free
From the cross and the school
That tried to destroy our culture
And destroy our life!

Chorus

Munduko langilejak, bat egin!
Ez zara inoiz esklabo izanen
Ipaŕaldekoei!

Workers of the world, unite!
Never again shall you be slaves
To the Miersans!

Second stanza

Orain igoceko garaia da
Askapenaren eŕonkara!
Burdina zapaldu, zure ecejak eraiki
Beraz, auŕera egingo duzu!

Now is the time for you to rise
To the challenge of freedom!
Strike the iron, build your homes
So you will thrive!

Chorus

Munduko langilejak, bat egin!
Ez zara inoiz esklabo izanen
Ipaŕaldekoei!

Workers of the world, unite!
Never again shall you be slaves
To the Miersans!
