The Jastrun Confederation of Unified Republics (JCUR), commonly referred to as the Jastrun Confederation, or more simply Jastrun, is a confederacy composed of nine republics and forty states. The Jastrun Confederation comprises much of continental West Jastrun, with its only land borders shared with Courdaland to the north. The Confederation also shares maritime borders with Osterland in East Jastrun, across the Osla Strait. The capital of the Confederation is New Constantia, founded as Salienburg in 1572 by Baatenian explorer Drosen von Salien before being renamed in 1664 during the Great Awakening. The Confederation is the largest nation by land area on Arcaeius, and as such is host to some of the most varied and diverse ecosystems and environments on the globe.
