The Ministry of Justice is the interior ministry of the Empire Of Makko Oko. It is a cabinet-level agency, and its headquarters are located in the capital city of Opposh. The current Minister of Internal Security is Sara Mauer, who has held the post since the formation of the Empire and of the ministry.
History
Mission
The Ministry of Justice is one of the only bodies responsible for coordinating, managing and regulating the justice system of the nation. Its mission is to enforce and uphold the laws of the nation and its courts respectively.

Departments
Office Of Civil Rights
This department is responsible for upholding and enforcing the Civil Rights Act Of 2022 and the constitutional rights enshrined in the Basic Rights Of Makko Oko. It was officially established via statute under the Civil Rights Act Of 2022, with some of those rights later becoming constitutional rights upon the enactment of the 5th revision.
National Security Division
This department deals with anything under the MOJ's jurisdiction and purview, such as the prosecution of cases, that are a potential danger to the national security of the Empire.
Directorate Appeals Division
This department is responsible for handling appeals from MOJ staff including judges; Of orders, guidelines and directives issued by the MOJ or that apply to the MOJ and its staff. All cases are not judicially-led, and are a panel of individuals from the division who hear the case and decide on a ruling. This division was seen as a way to keep internal matters internal without the possibility of bias from judges. The division is most famous for the Erma Barrows v. Makko Oko case where they upheld a directive to close the case.
After the establishment of the Justice Enforcement Service, the division was said to have increased in power, even if only slightly.
Ministers
The head of the ministry is known as the Minister of Justice. In addition to heading the ministry itself, the Minister of Justice also holds a place in the Executive Cabinet, and is an important advisor to the Emperor. The Emperor is responsible for appointing the Minister of Justice, along with all other government positions in the cabinet. There is no limit on how long any person can hold the position, and historically Ministers of Justice have served until retirement or dismissal.
