Ossoria (Ossorian: Osraí; formally Ard Ríocht Osraí, literally "[the] High Kingdom of Ossoria"), is an island nation off the western coast of the continent of Eracura in Tyran. Located in the Northern Nuadan Ocean, it lies to the west of Shalum and northwest of Æsthurlavaj, separated from these continental states by the Mallian Sea.

The core territory of Ossoria is comprised of an archipelago of over 200 islands, commonly referred to as the Ossorian Home Islands (Oileáin Baile Osraí). The largest of these is Oileán Mór (Great Island), the island occupied by the Kingdom of Kenlis which accounts for approximately two-thirds of the total land area of the Home Islands. Other major islands in the chain are Oileán Glasa (Green Island, Kingdom of Arless), Oileán Fada (Long Island, Kingdom of Vadre) and Oileán Scairbh (Rugged Island, Kingdom of Fira).

The Scepter

The Scepter of Ossoria, which is the colloquial term for both the Monarchy of the High Kingdom as well as the executive branch of the federal government as a whole, is both the head of state and the head of government for the High Kingdom of Ossoria. High King Cerball Ó Sionán of the Kingdom of Kenlis, the first High King of Ossoria and the founder of the High Kingdom, established the political and military supremacy of Kenlis over the other . The Ó Sionán Dynasty has continued to hold the high kingship of Ossoria through to the present day.

The Parliament

The Ossorian Parliament (Dáil Osraí) is made up of three chambers; the House of Commons, the House of Lords and the House of Keys.

The Nobility

The Nobility is prevalent throughout Ossorian social and political life, as their members are often among the most influential, wealthy, and powerful in the High Kingdom. This is largely due to the fact that the executive power of each level of government in Ossoria is held by a member of the nobility. However, their power has broadly come to be tempered with an adherence to the principle of noblesse oblige, infractions of which are still directly enforced by the monarchies.

Constituent Kingdoms

The High Kingdom is a federal monarchy comprised of nine Kingdoms and seven Dominions, Kingdom-equivalent territories typically found outside the Home Islands. The nine Kingdoms are the Kingdoms of Kenlis, Arless, Vadre, Fira, Brecon, Erdian, Roshin, Ederne, and Tarvi. The seven Dominions are the Alyksberg Free State, the Archduchy of Arzell, the City of Carria, the Hemar Confederacy, the Principality of Inis, the Vaddon Castellany, and the Lordship of Vormsi.

Energy

Hydro power, natural gas, nuclear power, wind power, and solar power are the primary sources for energy generation in Ossoria. In recent years, an effort has been made to increase the use of sustainable energy sources, decrease reliance on fossil fuel sources, and increase the nation's independence from foreign energy sources. The nation's main electrical generation and distribution systems are directly owned and operated by the Ministry of Infrastructure, but private individuals and local communities are encouraged to install small-scale power generators for local and domestic use. With the passage of the 2004 Sustainable Energy Act, any income made by selling excess power generated by installations designed for personal or local use back to the power grid are exempted from income tax.
