Naoto Kitagawa (5 August 1993) is an Army Officer currently serving in the Lucis Army. He currently serves as the chairman of the Thors Military Academy. He is the second son of Kiriya Kitagawa and Caroline Redfield-Kitagawa. As a child and adolescent, He lived in the shadow of his older brother, Yamato.
While Yamato inherited the command of Task Force 141, and consequently, the command of the Fort Daidoji Kitagawa, Naoto carried the tradition of his family into providing service to the Erebonian Empire by means of their advice, projects, plans, and other beneficial ideas that helped maintain Erebonia's strong position as one of the best armed forces in the Scandinavia region. Later in 2036, Naoto became the commandant of Fort Daidoji after his brother stepping down due to being him often in the field. Naoto carried administrative roles onwards. The following year saw him elected to the position of Chairman of the Thors Military Academy, which he still serves to this day. He stepped down as Chairman in 2043, only to be reelected again for 2nd time in 2052 as the Deseleni War approached its ending. He is the only person to serve 2 consecutive terms as Chairman of the academy, and also the 2nd foreigner to be given an administrative role, the first being his father as headmaster.
Early Life
Raised under the loving arms of his mother, Naoto in his early years was seen as a weak man who was easily picked and bullied. This was evidenced during his high school years, when even his own elder brother Yamato bullied him. Naoto kept silent for two years until he finally revealed to his father about that Yamato had been doing. As a result, Kiriya had Yamato's failed through his professors, who were Kiriya's friends. Naoto would forgive his elder brother later on when he asked for forgiveness.
Naoto was able to graduate from the academy with a rank of Lieutenant.

Chairman of the Thors Military Academy
In 2036, Yamato had resigned as the Commandant of Fort Daidoji Kitagawa as a result of being often deployed in the field, hence being unable to carry on his duties. He relinquished his position to his younger brother, who at that time was serving as a member of the board of directors for Thors Military Academy. As a result, Naoto handled administrative roles of handling the fort, as well as the personnel inside. The following year, Naoto was elected to the position of Chairman of the Academy. As a result, he carried 2 administrative roles. As Chairman, Naoto moved the direction of the Academy into pursuing the highest form of education available for cadets. It was also during this time that the Deseleni War was in its early stage. Naoto immediately moved to increase the defence capabilities of the cadets and its teaching and administrative staff. He had also set the highest budget spending to implement the policy. By 2040, the Thors cadets had reached defence capabilities.
Around this time, he also developed a close friendship with Thors Academy alumnus, Rean Schwarzer, who became his adjutant and executive officer. Rean's influence drastically improved the capabilities capabilities in the battlefield as Naoto had expected that the Deseleni War was to be one of the bloodiest war to ever exist. In 2043, he voluntarily stepped down as Chairman in order to assume his roles in the defence of Erebonia and other Allied establishments across Erebonia.
Naoto was again reelected in 2052 as Chairman as the Deseleni War was approaching its final months. Naoto immediately moved to prepare the academy for demilitarisation and called for the return of the academy to normal cadet life. The move was welcomed by many administrative staff and as the war finally ended the following year, student life in the academy restored to its pre-war curriculum. At the same year, His father finally retired with the rank of Field Marshal after having seen 7 decades of military service. His father's remaining responsibilities became Naoto's while Yamato assumed full command of Task Force 141. From there on, Naoto would become an inactive member of TF 141 as a result of his duties as Chairman. His son became a member of the board of directors in the same year, continuing the tradition of the Kitagawa family's service to the Thors Military Academy and to the Erebonian Empire as a whole.
Personal Life
Known as Deary Naoto to his peers, Naoto was seen by many as the most strongest of his siblings. Between Yamato and him, Naoto possessed the brains and wits of his father. As a child, Naoto loved his parents but loved his mother more. His attitude of embracing her all the time continued even as he grew into his 20s. Naoto stated that he could never live without his mother. Caroline loved Naoto very much.
Unlike his older brother, Yamato; Naoto was much more open and was much more affable. Although, He is also socially awkward, often not being able to blend in with people. As a result, he grew up to be a very quiet man and a loner. His social skills would later be developed as he matured, often preferring to keep his life private and having few friends unlike Yamato, who was his complete opposite. Although, Naoto was more intelligent, shining in negotiations and logical debates. In seeing this, Kiriya hoped that Naoto would take up political science or a lawyer to engage in politics. He even wished for a Kitagawa to be a Prime Minister. Although this wish was not granted following Naoto's decision to enlist, he was nonetheless proud of his favourite son.
On the other side, Naoto also possessed his father's ruthlessness and cunning as he slowly began to be assigned in commanding roles in the field, not just tactically, but also strategically. He was also quick to act when the going gets tough. Although Naoto still had a soft side when dealing with enemies, he does not hesitate to the use of violence when push comes to shove.
He always follows orders by the his father's words and dared not to break a single one. He is good friends with Richard Philip Todd, Klankain Auchinleck IV, Emrick Brennan, Saori Suzushiro, Waldemar Fegelein and other Commonwealth officers as well as Allied officers Bernice Cu, Brandon Ngo and others. He is currently dating fellow officer, Akiko Sugiyama.
