Emrick Brennan (19 May 1991) is a Rubrumian officer and businessman. A member of Task Force 141, He was the target of the Imperial Operation Goldeneye, which was to sneak an Imperial Female Spy whose job was to seduce the man and obtain information about the Plans of Allied attacks on Imperial Province and afterwards would be rescued in Joyonghean Territory and kill him. However, the spy, Claire Rieveldt ended up falling in love for Emrick and had defected to the allies. Under the ILESOC, Emrick is a member of Easy Company commanded by Cpt. Darzana Magbaredge. He is a member of the fire team alongside his best friend, Waldemar Fegelein.
Outside of military life, He is a singer for Himitsu as well as the youngest member of the band.
Early Life
Emrick was born to a Colonel in the Rubrumian Army while his mother was an ordinary house wife with a passion for cooking. He is of Rubrumian, Lucian, and Accordish descent through his grandparents, both of which are Second Europan War veterans, John Erick Brennan and of Erebonian descent through his paternal grandmother, Suzanna Hart.
Emrick was raised in Toronto and here he attended the Technical University of Ontaria which he graduated with a degree in Accounting. He attended the Ottawa East Military Academy where in he graduated with a rank of Major in 2006. Before joining the military, Emrick was a police officer for the Royal Rubrumian Mounted Police. He joined the military 6 months later.
Emrick is a fan of Nihonnese Anime and has stated that his favorite was Full Metal Panic and when off-duty, He is seen watching it.
Service in the Rubrumian Army
6 Years after the Second Lucis Civil War, Emrick; Who had been working as an intelligence officer in the Rubrumian Army was assigned as one of the town guards in a Quenminese Town during the early days of the Imperial Crisis. He was the only Commonwealth Troop inside as he was assigned to train the town's guards for defense. However, it had been overrun by Trieuists within the day of his arrival at 1am. This was his first and only day as an officer in the town. Emrick managed to escape the Trieuist Forces by escaping via the railroad tunnel that led the the Mekong River where he managed to find a boat and managed to row back into Allied Lines. Emrick was the only survivor of the attack according to some sources.
The High Command then expressed their interest within the man and decided to assign him to Task Force 141. Here, he reunited with his best friend, Kurasame Susaya and his adoptive uncle, General Yonaharu Susaya. Emrick became one of the Task Forces' best officers. He was promoted to First Lieutenant under the advice of his commander, General Kiriya Kitagawa. Soon, he became a liaison officer for General Kitagawa to General Susaya.
After Claire (who was in love with him during her mission) defected, She was assigned to assist Emrick in his missions that came, similarly sharing the same kind of relationship as Richard Philip Todd and Akino Terai's relationship but was described by Saori as much more cuter. Emrick always welcomed Claire for free time outside their missions to which Claire would playfully tease him.
Operation Goldeneye
Emrick was the target of the Imperial operation codenamed: Goldeneye, Which was a plan to infiltrate the Commonwealth High Command, obtain classified information and to deliver these in one piece. Emrick was the target because he was close with Kurasame Susaya, who is the son of Lieutenant General Yonaharu Susaya, the leading Rubrumian Field Commander. The Imperials knew that if they were able to obtain the Rubrumian plans of the three Commonwealth branches, then they would be able to obtain information about Commonwealth attacks since the Rubrumian branch was responsible for most offensive attacks.
An Imperial spy named Claire Rieveldt was assigned for the job and was able to infiltrate disguised as an Aurocolian Officer. Her orders were to get the information from Emrick by seducing the man but this did not happen as many got suspicious about what she is planning and that she might blow her cover. Emrick on the other hand knew what was going on and simply became quiet about it because he knew that she'll take the consequences if she goes ahead with her plan. Nonetheless, Emrick decided to work with Tatiana. During this time, Claire was slowly developing feelings for Emrick, even to the point of deserting her mission. Emrick however didn't want to let himself get fooled so he decided to play along whilst having the knowledge on what was going on.
On the 14th of October, Claire revealed her cover to him as well as the reason why she could not kill him. Emrick knew that Tatiana was too in love with him to kill him. She then pleaded him to protect her as she exposes her mission and that she was eager to defect to the Allied side. She also explained that she was already tired of serving under her Imperial Superiors. Emrick did not know what to do and had second thoughts on where to love her or turn her over. Claire would then admit to him that she'll do anything to love him even if it meant defecting.
The Allied High Command soon found out Claire's mission and ordered her arrest but Emrick, in a nick of time stood beside her and persuaded his superiors to accept her defection to which they accepted. On the 10th of December, an Imperial spy infiltrated to rescue Claire and kill Emrick but as Emrick and the spy were exchanging blows, Claire is torn between her orders to shoot Emrick and her feelings for him. In the end, Claire shoots the Imperial spy, finally cementing her defection and her love for Emrick.
Later War Years and End
After Claire had defected, The two would soon work together with Claire being assigned as his personal assistant and executive officer.
On Christmas Day, Emrick and Claire admit their feelings for each other and officially became a couple. They married later and had 3 children and settled in Toronto after the war where they now own a Delicatessen Shop.
Personal Life and Relationship with Claire
Emrick has a very strong sense for his duty. He can sometimes be dense about a girl's feelings but his caring personality is what captivates him. He is a quiet and reserved man. He will protect anyone he loves but will not hesitate to put a wound on someone's skin if the person he loves gets in trouble. He has a cold personality but has the attitude of being understanding.
Emrick loves Claire very much. He described Claire as a very subtle girl but can act childish whenever he would be around to which he describes as cute while Claire brushes off. He married Claire Rieveldt on September 30, 2017 and their first son was born on June 28, 2018. Emrick wanted to name the baby as Richard after his friend but Emrick and Claire decided to name him as Yukiteru Brennan in reference to their love of Nihhonese culture.The two currently live in Toronto with 2 more children where they now manage a Delicatessen Shop.
