Rain Delay, Inc. is a Garetolian corporation formed in 2018. Originally named Kasmere Sports, Inc., Rain Delay focuses on the design and sale of athletic equipment such as jerseys, and as a primary sponsor for some football teams in the Garetolian Football Association. Its CEO is Jeremy Kasmere.
The name 'Rain Delay' is a nod to Kasmere's original sport, baseball, in which games are often cancelled (or delayed, hence the term) for rain; however, since the company does not strictly offer baseball-only aparrel, there have been discussions on whether to change the name to something else. Despite this, Kasmere has reaffirmed his position on keeping the name, stating in 2021 that "[Rain Delay's] name is here to stay, and it'll take a long time to change it."
Formative Years (2018–2019)
Jeremy Kasmere formerly played for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball; after his retirement, he seeked to increase involvement with baseball in Garetolia. As a result, Kasmere Sports was founded in March of 2018. The name remained for about 7 months until it was changed to "something more representative of the sport that [Kasmere and his colleagues] are familiar with." This change was met with some backlash, but ultimately these attempts were futile at best. In January of 2019, in addition to just offering custom jersey orders for local teams, Rain Delay announced their first independent clothing line in the form of Rain Delay Athletic Socks. In June of the same year, L'Athlétisme was subsidized by Rain Delay, and in July the number of customers for the company increased significantly. In November, Bollard Sports announced plans to sell to Rain Delay.
Current Years (2020–Present)=
In 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Rain Delay's actions were halted in response to the actions taken by the Garetolian Government in order to prevent the spread of the virus. Because of this, the company began to gradually lose over a hundred Garetolian dollars a day. After borders were reopened in 2021, Rain Delay was reported to have lost over 4,000 Garetolian dollars (US$1,200). As a consequence, the company was forced to open up to many different sports, namely football and cricket. After Bollard Sports was officially subsidized, there was a large uptick in sales across the country. During the 2021-22 Garetolian Football Association season, Rain Delay officially sponsored Lod'oka FC and began production of their uniforms. As of November 2022, Rain Delay is one of the official sponsors for 4 football teams in Garetolia.
