Cyan Star was a Garetolian organization that critiqued films and television shows, beginning in May of 2003 and ceasing operations in June 2013. During its final months, the organization was headed by Moloko Esako. Cyan Star specialized in film criticism, specifically mostly in categories that were not included in the Garetolian Film Festival at the time; however, the addition of romance and drama to the GFF quickly made Cyan Star redundant, and the company eventually folded. Near the end of its existence, Cyan Star also produced ficitious movie posters of films referenced in films and television shows they had critiqued.

The organization had its roots in an eponymous news column written by its founder, Harrison Young, in his university's newspaper. The column critiqued films produced by the college's film department, though taking a non-traditional approach to film criticism, heavily praising films with melancholy endings. In 2001, Young stated that "the film of life never was meant to have a happy ending."

The organization gave out three awards: "Most Exceptional Drama", "Most Exceptional Romance", and "Highest Regard" (originally "Best Film"). The indiviual genre categories were scrapped in 2012 after the announcement of Best Romance at the Garetolian Film Festival. The next year, the organization, already with plans to close, was rendered useless with the GFF's addition of Best Drama.
