Skolas Keegar Tu'Aruc (June 14th, 1984) is a Seran noble and member of the Seran royal family who is currently serving as the thirteenth Monarch of the United States of Sera. Born into the Tu'Aruc royal family in Kito'Bahari, Kado, Unified Sera, Skolas graduated from Providence University in 2007 while serving in the United States of Sera Royal Marines. During his time in the U.S. Royal Marines, he commanded several operations against pirates in the Sea of Austrolis and conducted anti-piracy actions with the 4th Marine Raiders. Later, he took on peacekeeping operations in and along the previously unincorporated territory of Xanthus where he received several awards and accolades for his actions. After a brief stint traveling the world after being honorably discharged from the Royal Marines, Skolas worked as a mid-level Systems Administrator for the Sera based Information Technology Company Enterprise. Skolas is notable for being the youngest monarch to ever ascend to the throne.
He ascended to the throne after the death of his father on September 22nd, 2020 and was officially coronated on national television on September 25th, 2020. Skolas entered rulership during the height of what is considered to be the "Adulan Crisis" in 2021 which saw major political upheaval, civil wars, terror attacks, and refugee crisis in South Adula and along Sera's borders. This crisis would be his first true challenge in leadership which saw equal amounts of triumph and controversial failures. Many within and outside of Sera called into question the leadership ability of the relatively young monarch, and such feelings were mirrored by representatives and senators alike in Parliament.
However, after the successful campaign against the belligerent rogue nation Sparta Eternal in mid-2021 that saw Seran victory and the ouster of the ruling class in the country, many rallied to the King's side. This was only aided by the backing of then-popular Prime Minister Akan Khalfani who attested to the King's attention and support during the short conflict.
Early Life and Childhood
Skolas K. Tu'Aruc was born in the Palace of Kings on June 14th, 1984 to King Sefu Tu'Aruc and Queen Okoye Omowale-Tu'Aruc. As the son of a king and an accomplished professor and educator, Skolas was raised from an early age to value duty, commitment, and scholarship. His name for example is not a typical Seran name. Instead, Skolas' name is derived from a very old Seran word meaning "the blessed one" and was chosen by his mother. Skolas is the second eldest of five children.
Skolas Tu'Aruc was not born into a life of ease or luxury. While he did enjoy the trappings of being a child of royalty, his parents ensured that everything Skolas had he would need to work for. From an early age his parents and tutors instilled in him a sense of duty and commitment to the nation and its people, and levied the responsibility of serving the people rather than the people serving him. This deep commitment took root as Skolas quickly became invested in learning about methods of improving the lives of those around him. Even as a child, he would create inventive ideas about how to help his father organize his papers, or his mother grade assignments.[1]
As is typical of Seran family units, Skolas was surrounded by his family for his entire early childhood which created a strong bond between siblings and parents.[2] Skolas' dedication extended to his siblings as well, and often took a keen interest in their personal lives and schooling. His elder brother Amari mirrored Skolas' interest in their siblings and together, acted a second and third father figure for the youngsters. His watchful gaze over his siblings did not wane when he entered high school in 2009. Instead, his watch actually increased as he became very protective (even more so than the Valkiri[3]) Despite his privileged upbringing, Skolas was raised to be humble and kind to others.
