Janina Pasternack (born 21st of July, 1991) is a Malgravean singer and actor. Janina first came to public attention as the daughter of Anatol Pasternack, a mountaineer and survivalist who starred in a popular documentary series broadcast by MBC in the late 90's to early 2000's. Janina would gain fame of her own as a member of the idol group Eclipse and as an actor following the groups hiatus, with Janina's most recent performance being in the historical film Unity? which is focused on the unified SRM-UKM table tennis team that competed between 1980 and 1983 before the completion of the Epping-Rensk Agreement.

Early Life

Janina was born in Portmon on the 21st of July 1991, at the time a majority of the country was experiencing a period of economic stagnation and decline that would go on to be known as the Lost Decade, however, Portmon's role as the source of the vast majority of the nations natural resources and its role in the fishing sector meant that the city was relatively unharmed by the economic crisis.

In the late 90's Janina's father Anatol Pasternack starred in the popular MBC series Mountain Rescue (1998-2002) which documented the adventures of the Moncae rescue team as they prepared to deal with the transition away from isolationism while dealing with the regular challenges of the work, as the series also focused on the personal lives of the mountain rescue team Janina became known to the public due to her presence in several episodes which noted her piano lessons.

Musical Career

Janina joined Ascension Musical Productions in 2006 as a trainee session artist, providing back-up instrumentals to artists already employed by the company, however, in 2007 during an internal competition her vocal talents were recognised and she was transferred to the idol training program.

In 2008 Janina was selected to join the newly formed group Eclipse, as the second youngest member of the group Janina served as a sub-vocalist and rap/dance specialist in the group, with her talent for organising the choreography of the group she earned the nickname Chibunack a play on her name and the Malgravean Ancient word for snack.

Acting Career

In 2017 Janina made her official acting debut as she made a short cameo appearance in Adventurer High School as a member of one of the rival bands, this was followed up in 2019 when she appeared alongside fellow Eclipse member Rhee Chae-Yeong in MalContents where she had a small role as one of the MalTec employees that worked alongside the main characters to expose the corruption scandal.

In the same year Janina landed her first major role when she was signed on to play one of the main characters in the film Unity?, a film that was focused on the short-lived unified table tennis team that competed in international events between 1980 and 1983.

Janina was set to take part in a series called Travellers, in 2020/21, however, due to the Grogar Crisis filming of the project was put on hold and production was eventually moved to the Dornalian Republic. It was finally broadcast in 2022, although, it is not known at this point if work on a second season is underway.
