FDY-ASG Cohort
The FDY-ASG Cohort is a term used to describe a group of senior politicians and business leaders that were all part of the Free Democratic Youth (Malgrave) and the Ancestral Study Group in a specific period covering the Lost Decade.
History
With the inclusion of a large number of younger cabinet members after the 2014 Malgravean General Election, a series of discussions started to be held in journalistic circles on a suitable name to describe the next group of individuals filling senior roles in government and state-run businesses, a few names were proposed such as Post-War Collective but none stuck around.
In 2015, the Royal Malgravean Times settled upon the FDY-ASG cohort as each new member of this group was a member of the Free Democratic Youth (Malgrave) and the Ancestral Study Group. It was quickly taken on by over journalistic outlets like the Epping Post and TVN News and is now part of common vocabulary within Malgrave.
Criticism
In spite of its widespread use by journalists, the term has received some criticism from within Malgrave, especially, amongst supporters of Claudia Donovan who arguably started the idea of the FDY-ASG Cohort in the minds of the press. A major criticism from netizens, is that the existence of the cohort is seen as indicating that these figures have received their position due to their connections as opposed to their own merit which is a major taboo within the country, as Malgraveans greatly value the meritorious nature of their system which is regarded as even extending to the Paragon Monarch.
It has also been highlighted that due to the high membership of the Free Democratic Youth (Malgrave) and the Ancestral Study Group that being involved in such a cohort is impossible, especially, for those that want to enter politics or reach a senior level in a state-run company, however, this has been discarded by defenders of the name who just highlight that it is used to group politicians that grew up during the Lost Decade
Members
Katia De Campo, Claudia Donovan, Nadzieja Brzezicki, Seo Yi-kyung, Lotte Hansen and Aurelia Wyrzykowski are considered to be part FDY-ASG Cohort, although, as the group doesn't formally exist it doesn't have a strict membership beyond the parameters established by journalists.
It is seen as an amusement by those who are considered members. In 2020 and 20233 Nadzieja Brzezicki and Lotte Hansen took part in a satirical video poking fun at the FDY-ASG Cohort to raise funds for aid efforts in Silverdale and Kouralia.
