Salikhia will participate at the 2024 Winter Invictus Games held at the Scovernois locations of Rimso and Nordfolden. 49 Salikh athletes will compete across 47 events. This will be the first national participation in the Winter Invictus Games after 8 years of absence — also, Salikhia's tenth appearance at a Winter games.
Controversy
All is not rosy after the nation's return to the Winter Invictus Games, and there is certainly plenty to tear.
Zakhar Adrikishvili
Arikishvili, nicknamed "The Tskhan Madman", according to the media, is a rather controversial character: 'You either love him or you hate him', thanks to his expressive, intense narcissism and strong personality. Within Salikhia, he is regarded by many as a national emblem alongside "Nikola, Datunashvili, the wine, and the cross" — while in the international press, he is often portrayed as a villain. The accusations against him range from associations with neo-functionalist groups, alleged doping, various problems in his private circle, controversial speeches, and so on — most of these accusations have been refuted and proven false. Hermes Energy has been Zakhar's sponsor for more than 10 years, and his main public face since the athlete reached a certain level of popularity. To dispel the fumes ahead of the Invictus Games over the Salikh Committee's decision to appoint him as the flagbearer, Hermes released this advert to the world, recorded in Salikh, and subtitled in several languages, in an effort to make it clear that the Zakhar portrayed in the media and the real Zakhar are two different people.

Hermes Energy
After the absence from the Winter Invictus in 2020, and little or no preparation for the tournament before 2023, the public was led to believe that Salikhia would have a rather modest participation, limited only to Ski Jumping and Scovernois Combined, in both men's categories, with a heavy reliance on the performances of Adrikishvili. Hermes, seeing great profit potential in the event, decided to run a crowdfunding campaign, in which 10% of the price of each can sold from 4 January to 4 June 2023 would go towards the organisation of a massive recruitment campaign in search of the country's best talents, as well as covering the logistical and administrative costs of the modest National Committee. Against the clock, Hermes has financed the construction of several sports venues for the selection, training and preparation of talent, as well as the refurbishment of existing venues - the campaign was applauded by the national public and has been described as "an example of how a corporation can bring joy to the masses". Hermes has benefited enormously from this campaign despite losing 10% of profits per can, as its sales have increased considerably during the time of the campaign, especially in the adult sector. Official statements from the company indicate that the campaign has raised 450 million Euclos globally.
