Earldoms of Cadenza

The chief administrative division used in Cadenza is the earldom (kerepaqa; plural kerepaqen). Each earldom is administered by a hereditary earl who rules for life. Cadenza is divided into eleven earldoms. Of these, nine are located in part or their entirety on the main island of Khade:
- Emigara, centred on the town of Emigar;
- Kerqa'ved, centred on the town of Vedkathna;
- Khadeg, centred on the island's capital, the city of Cadenza;
- Lemithri, centred on the city of Lema;
- Mefrika, the newest earldom, centred on the city of Mefra;
- Molatiri, centred on the city of Canve;
- Pammez, centred on the town of Do'rediq;
- Roakkon, centred on the city of Ro'ekha; and
- Tevro, centred on the city of Temir.
Historically Cadenza held as many as seven overseas earldoms at any one time, but in the last two hundred years it has been restricted to two:

- Elagesk (part of modern Kelonna)
- Khamalb (Cadenzan Kamalbia);
- Torim Rü'aiz, a failed settlement on Insula Fera.
