Founded in 2012, the Tribune Movement is the result of a merger of several small right-wing parties; National Action, People's Radical Party and the Justice and Freedom Party, these parties draw direct roots from the Etrurian Patriotic and Social Movement, a successor to the Patriotic Revolutionary Party. It's initial focus was opposition to the eventual EC membership referendum set for 2016 and announced formally in 2013. The Tribune Movement would go on to lead the Free and United Etruria campaign for a No vote, which would win the referendum with 55% of the popular vote. In wake of the referendum victory, the Tribune Movement transitioned to a legitimate political party, advocating a right-wing populist agenda in the 2016 general election, which it won in a landslide. Since, the Tribune Movement in government has evolved to be generally considered a far-right, ultra-nationalist and anti-establishment political movement. Its time in government has seen major political reforms, which have effected the judiciary, law and order, civil liberties and minority rights. In terms of its majority in both chambers of the Senate of Etruria, it remains the most powerful political party since 1983 and the largest in terms of membership, which as of 2018, stands at 1.35 million.

Found in 2013, the Citizens' Alliance is the youngest party in Etrurian history to rise to represent the official opposition. The CA is predominately centrist, though the left-wing of the party focuses upon progressive policies, especially minority rights and confronting traditions of cultural and social conservatism. From its founding until the 2016 election, the CA rose as an alternative to the widely maligned establishment parties as an opposition to the rapidly growing Tribune Movement. In the 2016 election, the CA rose to become the party of opposition, in wake of it securing a bulk proportion of the collapsing Etrurian Federalist Party support. Between 2016 and 2018, the CA further developed its commitment to centrist and pro-progressive politics, by promising to lead efforts to improve rights for the LGBT community, fight to protect abortion rights and introduce formal recognition of minority languages and religions to the Etrurian constitution. In stark contrast to the Tribunes, the CA backs a second referendum on EC membership and is the most prominent pro-EC party in Etruria. The CA is the second largest party in terms of membership with 500,000 members as of 2018.

The PRU is the oldest existing party with federal representation, having been formed in 1916 as a 'union movement' for the land-worker, the PRU is also the only represented party to have played a role in the Etrurian Revolution. Throughout much of its existence the PRU has been electorally concentrated in the state of Novalia, the 2018 election saw the party capture several seats in Vespasia and Carinthia from the Federalist and Socialist parties. Throughout its existence, the PRU stood as the party for rural workers and to a lesser-extent urban factory workers, being a key pressure force on government to protect and invest in national agriculture and rural regions. Since 2012, the PRU has transitioned to be a major representative for the rural regions in general, adopting numerous pro-industrial policies. The PRU is also a strong advocate for mercantilist trade policies and the use of tariffs to defend local food producers, its all-dominant role in Novalia has also led the PRU to be one of the most prominent opponents of Marolev and Coian immigration. The PRU was also part of the No-campaign during the EC referendum and cooperates closely with the governing Tribune Movement on most issues. Since 2018, the PRU has been acccused of being a satellite party of the Tribune Movement.

Democratic Alternative is the youngest party to hold federal representation, seizing its first seats in the 2018 election. DE was formed in 2016 as a breakaway from the declining Etrurian Federalist Party. Compared to the EFP, Democratic Alternative operates a mix of liberal conservative social policies and interventionist economic policies. The DE also advocates increased powers for state-governments at the expense of the federal center, while also promoting multiculturalism and improved rights for LGBT and women. However, the DE has also been known to oppose a second referendum on EC-membership, while promoting a normalisation of ties and increased cooperation, rejecting the adversarial nature of the Tribunes' policy towards the bloc. The DE also opposes significant immigration, promoting a points-system. |
