Together for Alsland (Dellish: Tegearre foar Aalslân, Weranian: Gemeinsam für Aalsland, Swathish: Gẹdor for Ẹlsland, Kirenian: Koos Elsmaa eest, TFA), often shortened to Together, was an Alslandic political party.

Ideologically the party positioned itself as a centrist political party and has been described as populist by some media sources. The party was founded on 26 July 2022 ahead of the 2022 Alslandic legislative election by politicians from the Green - Alternative Choice and Progressive Alliance who were opposed to the cabinet's response to the SYFA spying scandal. They were joined initially by 6 Senators and 1 MEP. The party's rapid growth in support ahead of the election led to the party's officials to select Kairi Sokk as the party's candidate for Premier. It formed a joint list with VOX Alsland, Future.as and Alsland 21 ahead of the election. It's main policies include protecting the environment, government accountability, holding a constitutional convention to write a new constitution. The party merged with Liveable Alsland to form the Radicals in November 2022.

History

The party was founded on 26 July 2022 by a group of defectors from the Green - Alternative Choice: Kairi Sokk, Sjoek Wijma, Griġm Holt and Ajolt Glas who left the Green - Alternative Choice to oppose the party's defence of the government during the SYFA spying scandal. At their founding press conference Sokk stated the party's main goals were to oppose the current government, push for government accountability and transparency, support a new constitutional convention and oppose the Dellish independence movement by giving Communities more say in the running of the Federal government. They were soon joined by Green MEP Jannik Boeckmann and 2 former Progressive Alliance Senators. Jannik Boeckmann became a member of the Forward Euclea political group in the Euclean Parliament after the party's founding. The party allows anyone to be a member and does not impose membership fees on prospective members who will have to register to join the party online to vote on party issues.

The announcement of the new party was welcomed amongst dissatisfied Alslandic voters who began supporting the party en-masse, within weeks of it's founding it led opinion polls. The party adopted a populist campaign strategy, after Sokk was not invited to a climate change debate on ANS the party held a simultaneous online question and answer session which reportedly had more viewers than the climate change debate according to Alsland's media regulator body.

Platform

Together for Alsland claimed to be a centrist, anti-establishment, envrionmentalist, Pro-Euclean political movement. The party's 2022 manifesto commits the party to pursue government, social and economic reforms if elected including digitalising the government, closing Alsland's nuclear power plants, creating an independent elected body to draft a new constitution and to equalise Alsland's regions and end the transfer of taxes between communities. The party was considered to be a member of the Future politics movement due to it's affiliation with Future.as. The party's chairwoman Kairi Sokk claimed the current Alslandic constitution fuels division and wants to replace the offices of Premier of Alsland and President of Alsland with an elected directorial position comprising of representatives from each Community of Alsland. The party also wanted to cut the number of Senators from 201 to 132 whilst also introducing more forms of direct democracy and e-democracy. The party wanted to encourage investment in technology start-ups, it also had plans to dramatically increase Alsland's science funding and also create more technology schools to make the country a regional leader in technological innovation. It also supported establishing term limits of 8 years for Senators.

Various analysts have differing views on where the party sits on the political spectrum. ANS descried the party as centrist, Hjoed meanwhile has implied that the party is influenced by liberal tendencies from the centre-right. The party had an very liberal economic policy compared to other political parties in Alsland and supports lowering the country's corporate tax. Kairi Sokk identifies the party as following a unique brand of economic liberalism. The party rejected being labelled as neoliberal and pointed to it's support for abolishing tuition fees for Universities and other forms of tertiary education as proof.

Affiliation

National affiliation

The party was the largest party and the de facto leader of the Modern Democracy list, a political alliance between Together as well as VOX, Future.as and Alsland21. The alliance between the 4 parties guarantees each party will have representation on their joint list ahead of the 2022 Alslandic legislative election and a promise to cooperate together in government to pursue a group of common goals which were laid out in Together for Alsland's manifesto. The leaders of the 4 parties stated that the alliance would remain unified after the election no matter the result. At the founding of the alliance the leaders of VOX, Futre.as and Alsland21 agreed to support the candidacy of Kairi Sokk and agreed to campaign with Together for Alsland ahead of the election.

After the election the four parties formed the 'Together Senate Faction' and invited likeminded parties such as the Greens to join the faction.

Euclean affiliation

The party had no official affiliation in the Euclean Parliament and has deferred all decisions on joining a group until after the legislative election. The party's sole MEP Jannik Boeckmann who defected from the Green - Alternative Choice party to join Together continues to sit as a member of the Green and Ecologist Movement in the Euclean Parliament. In an email sent to prospective members after the party's founding it committed itself to holding an online members vote to decide on whether to join a Euclean group with the option to remain unaffiliated. Party members were given the choice of starting negotiations with the Forward Euclea, the Alliance for a Federal and Regionalist Euclea or the Green and Ecologist Movement groups in the Euclean Parliament, a plurality supported opening negotiations with Forward Euclea although Future.as announced it would not leave the Future Party of Euclea.
