The 7th Armoured Division or the Lucian 7th Armoured Division is a division of the Lucis Army that first served during the Second Europan War. It was created in 1931 in response to the ongoing tensions taking place in Europa at that time. The Division fought well during the early days of the war. It was subsequently fighting outside the Lucis Isles as part of the Lucis 11th Army Group under the command of Marshal Archibald Sugiyama. The division earned the moniker of "The Desert Rats" for causing great problems for the Imperials during the Battle of Sania, where it first encountered the Quenminese forces.
It would continue to serve with great distinction throughout the war, creating a reputation as one of the most elite divisions within the Lucis Army. The division has held many distinctions, of which two have been recognised by many historians:
- It contributed greatly to halting the Imperial march at the pivotal Battle of Sania, where the 7th Armoured Division fought against overwhelming odds and repulsed 3 Quenminese divisions intended to breakthrough the defenses; and,
- It has been famous for being the first Allied division to cross into Quenmin during Operation Arbiter.
Along with the 79th, 11th, 48th and 51st (Northumberland) Divisions were considered as one of the pinnacle of successes among Lucis Army formations in history, owing to their high morale, excellent leadership, and tact strategies.
In present times, the 7th Armoured Division currently serves as part of the Lucis Commonwealth Armies in Erebonia and is under the command of General Angus MacDonald.
