Aurora Tea is a Malgravean idol group that debuted in 2023. Aurora Tea have been described by netizens as belonging to the next generation of Malpop, a claim which was once laid on from Venus who are said to have signified the next generation after the Eclipse era.
Foundation
Lee Soo-jin and Rhee Yu-Mi were originally set to debut with Moon Hye-Jin, Choi Iseul and Han Yoon-seo in a group called Penguin Love, however, due to health concerns related to MIDD the project was ultimately cancelled, with Moon Hye-Jin and Choi Iseul later debuting together in Venus.
Both Lee Soo-jin and Rhee Yu-Mi worked on a few more projects for the Malgravean Broadcasting Corporation between 2018 and 2020 as part of their idol training, however, in 2021 they both left Ascension Musical Productions to establish their own independent tea cafe in Aurora and officially ended their training with the company.
Initially, both Lee Soo-jin and Rhee Yu-Mi were reluctant to get involved in the musical business again, however, in mid-2022 had started to work together on group performances which they gave to customers visiting their tea cafe in Aurora. Soon videos of their performances started to be uploaded onto MalTube, with many netizens praising their vocal talents and the soothing music on display alongside the powerful visuals offered by the group.
Later in that year Ascension Musical Productions announced that they had signed the duo, with the group being called Aurora Tea in reference to their prior work.
2023 - Debut
Aurora Tea released their debut album, Love Poem in 2023 which was introduced on an episode of Music Research Project on a segment about new groups. Netizens soon praised Aurora Tea for their excellent live vocals, and some even criticised Ascension Musical Productions for failing to debut them in the past.

- Lee Soo-jin - Main Vocalist - Lee Soo-jin is the main vocalist of Aurora Tea. In a MalTec Capybara live it was confirmed that she is the main songwriter of the group, as she has a journal full of lyrics for future projects. Soo-jin is noted introvert, however, is often tempted to come out of her shell by Yu-Mi and has gained many fans online during her Capybara and MalTube sessions.
- Rhee Yu-Mi- Main Dancer/Rapper and Secondary Vocalist - Rhee Yu-Mi is the main choreographer of the group, as she focused on dancing during her time as a trainee at Ascension Musical Productions. Yu-Mi is noted as an extrovert, and has a MalTube channel dedicated to gaming and sharing her dancing tips. In a previous Capybara live it was revealed that Yu-Mi was a trained pianist and won competitions with the Free Democratic Youth. Soo-jin refers to her as a diamond, as she radiates energy and beauty which was quickly picked up by Netizens as her nickname.
