Blankenlair is a port city and the tenth-largest city in Elbresia with a population of 528,000. The city's population increased substantially as a result of the Continental Elbresian gold rushes in the late 19th century. It has grown steadily since the World War due to a high net migration rate. Post-war immigrants were predominantly from Euronia, while more recent arrivals have led to a large population of Ausianan and Adulan descent. Several mining booms in other parts of continental Elbresia in the late 20th and early 21st centuries saw Blankenlair become an important city for large mining operations. Blankenlair's ancient city centre features many buildings and structures, several dating as far back as the High Middle Ages. It has been the religious center of Elbresia since the 8th century.
