The Controlled Materials Administration, commonly referred to as the CMA, is a domestic law enforcement agency within the Makko Oko Ministry of Internal Security. Its responsibilities include the investigation and prevention of national offenses involving the unlawful use, manufacture, and possession of defined controlled materials and acts of arson and bombings. The CMA also regulates via licensing the sale, possession, and transportation of controlled materials throughout the Empire.

History

Makko Oko originally took no stance on alcohol, tobacco, etc. and let it be a free market, excluding dangerous forms of drugs such as LSD. After the Civil Transition War, it had been the same up until the enactment of the Life Security Act, which officially prohibited all sales of tobacco and alcohol products, putting enforcement under the control of the Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (NEB). That would be the only action taken until the December 2022 Capital Bombing, which after a report was released, led to the national restriction of fireworks and propane through the enactment of the Dangerous & Hazardous Materials Control Act, which established the CMA to enforce it and manage the list of controlled materials.
