History

In 1920 the Provisional Government of Storsnia established at the end of the Storsnian Civil War transformed into the Chamber of Representatives with the signing of the Declaration of the United Republic. After the declaration was signed it was decided that the first general election would be held on November 20th of 1920. After the election a motion was held among representatives to decide upon the first First Minister. The chambers overwhelmingly elected civil war hero and general Matteus Hyvönen.

Since reformation in 1920 Storsnia has had 22 different First Ministers. The longest serving being Hyvönen and Salonen.

The First Minister has significant political duties as the head of government ranging from approving and voting on legislature, serving as the head of executive branch, appointing cabinet members and representing Storsnia on the international stage.
