The 43rd Federal Parliament was elected at the 2018 Federal Election. On 27 August, 2018 the President of Thermodolia Jacob Zarman re-appointed Bill Winston to the position of Prime Minister. Winston was re-elected as Prime Minister on 27 August, 2018.

The Fourth Winston Cabinet came about after 100 members of United Thermodolia left the party and became independent. This left the Third Winston Cabinet in a bind as they where now a minority government.
Prime Minister Bill Winston quickly reached out to opposition parties about forming a grand coalition government which was formed on 7 February, 2020 and lasted until 10 April, 2020.

The First Summers Cabinet was formed after the Fourth Winston Cabinet collapsed and 43rd Federal Parliament was dissolved by President Jacob Zarman.
Andrea Summers would be appointed by the President on 10 April, 2020 to lead a national unity coalition while the elections where underway.
