Gustavsland proper is the southern nation on the Gustavsland continent and it is the only part of the continent controlled with by the absolute royal federation. The realm is governed by two people that makes up for not only the civilian government but also most of the military, the Vedian colonist and the Uwoto tribe while the rest of the native tribes mainly makes up the workforce even if there are exceptions to this rule and Vedian colonists have started to claim land for farming just as there are Uwoto workers and tribal representatives in the court and native regiments.

While there are factories in the larger cities so are the main income for Gustavsland the rich silver mines in the mountains, the large cotton plantations and the massive hordes of sheep and cows that is herded on the lowland plains.

Geography

Gustavsland is one of the most diverse realms when it comes to geography and it can basically be divided into three parts, the flatlands, the jungle and the highlands. The flatlands is the most common parts of the nation and it encompasses the large savannas and riverlands that stretches out over the largest part of the realm. The second most common type is the highlands that is the mountains and hill regions in the eastern part of the realm and it is generally said to cover the north and central parts of the realm. The jungles region is the smallest one and encompasses as the name suggests the jungles north of the mountains and just south west of the mountain chain.

Climate

Despite being so far to the south so can the temperatures wary greatly between the wet season and the dry season since the land is surrounded by ocean on three sides and mountains on the fourth which means that a mild or even cold wind is often blowing through the land even if the sun is hammering from the sky. The inland is however spared from this to a large extent and in summer so can temperatures reach almost 45 degrees Celsius in the dry season while the southern coast is the coldest climate and in the wet season so have temperatures been known to drop to negative degrees.

Flora and fauna

The large plains that covers most of the realm is the home of many interesting species such as the white rhino, white and normal lions, leopards, giraffes, wild sheep, zebras, wild horses, wildebeess, kudus and hyenas while the rivers are the home to both mighty hippos and crocodiles. In the mountains so can one find large mountain gorillas while the jungles are the home of snakes, parrots and monkeys.

The land is also home to many interesting flowers and trees as Fynbos dominates the landscape while the savanna is the home to the rare yellowwood, stinkwood and black ironwood.

History

The history of Gustavsland is one of isolation and warfare since while the northern parts of the continent grew stronger and more technologically advanced by each passing day so were the southern part of the continent separated by the large mountain chain that acts as a natural border where stuck in tribal wars and kingdoms that quickly rose and fell while tribes grew in power and wealth just to fade into obscurity as they were defeated by larger tribes that took their place.

This changed when the continent were discovered in 2010 by Imerian explorers and an alliance were made between the absolute royal federation and the Uwoto tribe to take over the southern part of the continent. With federal military advisers so were the Utowo warhosts gathered and trained with federal weapons and tactics while the federation itself prepared itself for the conquest.

Almost four months after the first contact so did the first federal colonisation ships show up with civilians and an entire federal field army that landed in the south western part of what would become the federal realm while the Uwoto warriors marched southwards and westwards with federal weapons so that the two armies quickly could lay a massive landmass under their control. Tribes that had fought against the federal forces were punished by having to give up parts of their territories for future federal colonisation while tribes that surrendered or did not fought after the first conflict were over were left alone to tend to their own land as long as they obeyed direct command and paid their new taxes while federal subjects arrived in large numbers to claim both new land and to populate the large cities that were growing up in the coastal regions.

With most of the western part of the nation pacified in 2011 but still with conflicts between settlers and free tribes in the east were it decided that a series of penal colonies would be established in the western parts of the continent so with a field army to defend both the natives from the prisoners and vise versa so were it decided by the crown and the Jarless of Gustavsland that the colonies should be established and with a minor series of wars between the rebellious tribes in the east and the newly arrivals so were the project considered a great success.
