The name Sthalinge comes from the Imerian world "Sthal" or "steel" in English, a name that was given to the island thanks to the massive amounts of ore and coal found there. A name the realm truly lives up to as mining is one of the main sources of income in the realm and it ships out large amounts of ore to forgeries elsewhere in the federation. However that is not the only source of incomes earned over there as it also have a large oil drilling industry that also is shipped out for refinery and then for export elsewhere in the federation. The most common goal for shipments is Scandera itself so the realm capital of Sthalborg have grown a massive harbour that handles massive ocean faring transport ships as well as a federal and royal navy base that is the home of several battleships and cruisers.

Geography

The Geography of sthalinge is noted for it's mountains and large hilltops, tall dry grass covers most of the island and the shoreline is rocky cliffs and stone covered shores. The highest peak is Gryndeberga that reaches 2231 meters above the ocean.

Climate

Sthalinge enjoys a temperate climate that while being characterised by mild winters so does temperatures fall to -10 °C while the summers are also rather cold and temperatures in the warmest month of august so does the temperature only reach 15 °C as a standard. It is however a very wet realm due to the close proximity to the sea which means it can rain as much as 752 millimetres per year with autumn being the wettest month and spring being the driest.

Flora and fauna

Sthalinge is a very barren island and one can only find grass, wild flowers and bushes as vegetation and the islands only sports a population of various kinds of birds and seagulls especially are common in the islands. However in recent years so have this avian population gotten into trouble from Imerian colonisation efforts as well as rats from Scandera have started to spread out and threatening the native bird population.

History

The history of Sthalinge is a short one as the first settlers on the other wise barren island was the Imerian colonists that settled the island when the federation claimed it in 2011. Despite the nature of the islands so did federal settlers arrive in large numbers when the rich ore deposits under the mountains and the massive oilfield in the ocean were revealed.

The cities grow quickly as settlers were more than willing to claim their own land and get rich on what they could mine. However despite the claims and tales of glory spread by the royal merchant guild turned often out to be lies or empty promises as the larger mines were already claimed and the smaller ones had a hard time competing with the larger corporations and were quickly bought up.

Today so is the realm very rich but the wealth is highly concentrated and the oil especially is kept in the Stjärnkhrone house's hands.
