Gylian Television (French reformed: Télévision d'Gylias), abbreviated GTV (TVG), is the public television broadcaster of Gylias. It is part of the Gylian National Broadcasting Service.
History
Gylian Television was founded in 1958, as the television division of the Gylian National Broadcasting Service.
Between 1958 and 1991, it had a monopoly on television broadcasting at the federal level.
It expanded with the creation of additional television stations in the 1960s–1970s, leading to the current total of 5 stations.
It began teletext service in 1979, and satellite television broadcasting in 1983.
It played a role in the growth of the internet in Gylias during the 1990s, and was a pioneer in using the publinet to archive and stream its programming online.
It began broadcasting in high definition in 2006, and completed its digital switchover in 2009.
Organisation
It is a public organisation, part of the GNBS. It is organised by workers' self-management, and managed by the Management Board.
It has 20 regional divisions.
Availability
GTV is available nationally in Gylias, and internationally through satellite radio and online streaming.
It is also available in parts of Cacerta (Molise) and Knichus (areas of Nchi, Nafayetu, and Nuoverri bordering Gylias).
Identity
GTV is known for its eclectic programming and pioneered the concept of spin quotas. It broadcasts from 08:00 to 22:00 daily.
Its main theme songs were composed by Susan Shelley, and have become iconic in Gylian popular culture.
It uses a variety of station identification videos, and minimalistic out-of-vision continuity, always made after a program or its closing credits has completely finished. Due to irregular program lengths, it famously uses various short programs as filler between scheduled programs.

GTV1 (French: TVG1) is the flagship television channel of GTV. It is the descendant of the first channel to begin broadcasting in 1958, and was renamed "GTV1" when additional channels were created.
It is a generalist channel, offering a wide spectrum of programming: news, current affairs, original series and films, and other entertainment and artistic programming.

GTV2 (French: TVG2) is the second television channel of GTV, established in 1962.
It is a cultural and artistic channel. It is the main outlet for popular music programming of GTV, through acclaimed shows such as Ready Steady Go! (1963–1970), Popworld (1990–2000), and The Week in Music (1980–present).

It is a channel dedicated exclusively to animation programming. It is commonly nicknamed GTV Anime.

GTV Parliament (French: TVG Parlement) is the fifth television channel of GTV, established in 1975.
It is the federal legislature broadcaster, covering the proceedings of the Gylian Parliament. It broadcasts both the Chamber of Deputies and Senate, and only while they are in session.
