The House of Aultavilla (also known as the House of Hauteville-Ostracine) is a Scipian royal house of Burgoyard origin, a cadet branch of the House of Hauteville, which ruled as Audonian Emperors. It has been the ruling house of Sydalon since the 16th century, as by Sydalene law, the Monarch must always be a member of the House of Aultavilla. By Ascalene law, the Head of the House of Aultavilla is the Co-Prince of Ascalzar. The current head of the House of Aultavilla is Queen Melisende III of Sydalon.
Titles and styles
The titles and styles of the royal family are as follows:
- The Head of the Household is the occupant of the throne. The occupant of the throne is The King or The Queen, together with also with other titles belonging to the Crown or members of the royal family. They are styled His or Her Royal Majesty.
- The King's wife bears the title of Queen with the style of Her Royal Majesty
- The Queen regnant's husband may bear the title of Prince Consort with the style of His Royal Highness.
- The Monarch's heir apparent bears the title Prince of Petra with the style of His or Her Royal Highness.
- The Monarch's children, not The Prince of Petra, bear the title of Prince or Princess of Sydalon with the style of His or Her Royal Highness. Children of a Prince or Princess of Sydalon bear the title of Prince or Princess of his or her parent's substantive title with the style of His or Her Highness.
- Spouses, parents, or widows or widowers of the monarch or the monarch's sons and daughters, other than those of the Prince or Princess of Petra, are entitled to any title or style granted to them by the Monarch.
- All titles, styles, and honors are granted at the sole discretion of the reigning Monarch.
