Jenný Anadottir (born 25 January 1986) is a Crylantian politician who currently serves as the Director for Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade and the Leader of the Trúathi Party. She elevated to these roles on the 11th April 2017, succeeding Silvanus Le Grande and becoming the first woman to hold either role. She was formerly a Member of the People's Assembly for Kattinge between 2009 and 2017. Politically, she identifies herself with the Crylantian ideological tradition of Trúathi humanism, and has also referred to herself as a environmentalist, pacifist and feminist.

The daughter of a socially-minded Trúathi clergyman and a History Teacher, she grew up within the Kattinge-Vestby-Norðkirk conurbation. She attended Unity College in the University of Lentini between 2004 and 2008, holding a Master's Degree in Philosophy.

Early life

Jenný Anadottir was born in the town of Norðkirk in the state of Kattinge, part of the greater Kattinge-Vestby-Norðkirk conurbation which dominates the small state. Her parents were Sven Petúrson, a socially-minded Trúathi clergyman, and Ana Sigurðadottir, a History Teacher at West Norðkirk School, which she attended from 1992 to 2001. They were both supporters of the Trúathi Party, however taking a more socially liberal line than much of the party on issues such as abortion and euthanasia, which highly influenced Anadottir's political views.

She later attended Norðkirk Gymnasium, a type of school in Crylante which specializes in humanities. She was described as "a bright, albeit quiet student, with rather idealistic views" by one of her former teaches, and graduated with a strong performance in 2004.

After graduating from Norðkirk Gymnasium, she studied Philosophy at Unity College, University of Lentini, aiming to gain a Master's Degree. She developed her political views further here, becoming a feminist and joining the party that she and her parents supported and becoming a campaigner for them in the 2005 Crylantian election, however their share of the vote remained the same as beforehand and the Trúathi Party retained it's one seat. She graduated with her Master's Degree in Philosophy from the University of Lentini in 2008.

Member of the People's Assembly

After leaving university, she was offered a job as an aide to the sole Trúathi Party member for Kattinge, Jon Sigurdson, which she accepted. She only served at this for six months, however, as the elderly Sigurdson announced that he would not stand again for re-election in the 2009 election, and she put her name forward to the Kattinge Trúathi Party, who accepted her application and put her on their party list. She gained a lot of votes, elevating her position on the list to first and passing the quota, causing her to enter the People's Assembly as a member of the Trúathi Party for Kattinge.

As a result, she joined the Trúathi-Alydian Union parliamentary group, consisting of her party and the Alydian Democrats, a minor party representing the interests of the mainland Asuran and Alydian minority in the nation. She was considered a "rising star" in her party, with her representing a more "modern" version of the Trúathi Party.

She retained her seat in the 2013 election, getting many choice votes, with almost all constituents giving one of their five votes to her, as many people felt satisfied with her performance.

Director for Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade

On the 17th of March, 2017, she announced her intention to resign for the People's Assembly and run for the spot of Director for Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade, which was being vacated by the Party Leader, Silvanus Le Grande. Her opponent in the race was the Member of the People's Assembly for Nixoperuit, Bjarne Mancini. Her campaign focused on defending the rights of women and minorities around the world, combating climate change and promoting world peace, which resonated with many people in the Federation.

She did not to stand for re-election for her seat in Kattinge, as there is a long standing, uncodified tradition where someone cannot be a member of both the Great Council and the National Council at the same time. In the election, the Trúathi Party managed to keep her seat.

On the 11th April, 2017, she managed to secure a large share of the United Great Council's votes, getting 221 votes to Mancini's 58, gaining support from much of the Reform Party, the Socialist Party, the Green Party and the People's Party. Her opponent peacefully conceded to her, and she appointed him as her deputy for the Department. Her election was congratulated worldwide by many feminist, pacifist and environmentalist groups.

In her time in office, she has shown a commitment to increased participation in international relations, following a doctrine called "New Neutrality", in which the nation would interact with other nations much more but stay militarily unaligned. She presided over the creation of the Lhedwinic Council, bringing Crylante together with Vrnallia, Navack and Glanodel to aid in regional development. Her and the Lhaeraidh Prime Minister, Líadáin Síomha, presided over the dissolution of WACO, citing its redundancy, but a trade deal and a mutual recognition of neutrality was kept. In her most controversial move, she made Crylante an observer of the Aeian Community, citing the "great economic and social benefits", although some decried this as "the death of neutrality".

Electoral history

Personal life

In 2010, Anadottir revealed that she was in a relationship with fellow Trúathi Party Member of the People's Assembly Isak Lykkeson, who represents the state of Haverslev. The two of them moved into an apartment overlooking the Usserød/Ouserad River in central Nebligen in 2014, and then in 2017 they moved into the government-provided house for the Director for Foreign Affairs and Trade together. They own one cat, a light brown tabby, called Mint.

She has stated that she is a fan of Apricitas, a popular type of Crylantian electronic music, long walks by the river and strategy games. She has also described herself as being somewhat of an introvert.
