Les Paguinots, was a work of Historical Fiction by Vincent Remot and first published in 1778. The book told a romanticized tale of the persecution of the Paguinot, a group of Recantist adherents who stood in revolt against the Lunder empire.

The book was quickly banned in the Empire as seditious, misogynist, and in violation of the Edict of Salus and Vincent Remot was forced into exile after a warrant for his arrest was declared. However it gained a massive following in the Southern provinces of Ester and Vinch.

The book is credited for inspiring the creation of a Guinot identity not based off the Gostic identity but a shared identity of those living between the Vesil, Silvil, and Kesil river valleys.

The resulting exile, also turned Remots work into full political treatises which we would have been unable to write within Lunderfrau.
