List of Political Parties in Storsnia

This article is a List of political parties in Storsnia, which includes national-level parties and excludes local and canton-specific parties. A party is defined as a political organization registered with the electoral commission's national party registry.

Storsnia has a multi-party system. Coalition governments are common to form majority governments in the Chamber of Representatives. Parties not part of governments are included in the opposition.

Storsnian law dictates that for a party to operate free of charge it must fulfill certain conditions:

• primary purpose is to affect governmental affairs
• has received 5,000 votes in any parliamentary, canton or judicial election OR
• controls a parliamentary, canton legislature seat or governance or judicial position
• the organization's rules guarantee the following of democratic processes in its decision making and activities

Registered parties may nominate candidates in any national or local elections, and a party that is represented in parliament is granted a government subsidy relative to their number of seats. To qualify as a registered party, an organization must have bylaws guaranteeing democratic internal organization and must be able to present 5,000 signatures from supporters who are eligible to vote. Any party that fails to win a single seat in two consecutive parliamentary elections is stricken from the registry but may apply again.
