Romaia is a constitutional, hereditary monarchy. The monarch is titled Emperor (or Empress) of the Romaians (Αυτοκράτορας των Ρωμαίων), and serves as the country's head of state.
The incumbent, Ioannis IV, ascended the throne on 14 February 2006.
