Monic (Namorese: Венкаи or 文菜 in Ventzi; Venkai in Tziroma) is a Namorese restaurant chain that serves Namorese food as well as food from other Monic countries.

Monic began as a small enterprise consisting of only one restaurant in Namo, opened by Pingji Antelope, the second eldest son of Chishui Antelope and a nephew of Gelai Antelope. It remained like that for a few years until it grew in popularity and eventually became a multinational restaurant chain.

Unlike other restaurants that serve Namorese or generally Monic foods, Monic is known for its combination of Monic and non-Monic elements to create unique dishes. Within Namor, it is known for being one of the few family businesses managed by the Antelope family.

History

Pingji Fried Rice

Pingji Antelope, the son of Chishui Antelope (founder of Refrigerium Inc.) and a nephew of late Namorese leader Gelai Antelope, founded Monic as a small take-out restaurant in Chulai-pei district of Namo. His business was very unstable due to Namorese food restaurants being commonplace throughout Namor, making Monic a typical, uninteresting restaurant. However, Pingji was able to secure Monic by experimenting with different dishes that combined Monic and non-Monic elements, while at the same time not departing its Monic roots. An example of this was Pingji Fried Rice - fried rice mixed with fried eggs, vegetables and bacon. Pingji Fried Rice became exceptionally popular, and helped attract more customers for Monic. In the years ahead, Pingji continued to make "neo-Monic" foods such as the Tuthinan Taco (tortilla wrapped around raw fish), Chicken Fen Noodle Soup and Fried Sushi Rolls.

After some success, Pingji took the extra step by opening five more restaurants throughout Namo. Monic restaurants were established in other major Namorese cities including Mojing, Nozama City, Sicho, Esquarian City and Hoy Phong. There was soon at least one Monic outlet in each Namorese city, with Namo being the city with the most number of Monic locations (350 total).
