  1. The term "Dairi" is also used as a denonym, but is generally reserved for referring to the ethnicity, not the nationality.

Norinnia, officially the Sovereign Consulate of Norinnia, is a country in northern Norumbia. It consists of the majority of the northernmost portions of the former Federal States of Enyama. It shares borders with East Enyama to the east, the Banno Shogunate (West Enyama) to its south, the Ala Nova International Zone to its northeast, and maritime borders with Wazheganon and Elatia. The majority of Norinnia's population consists of Norinnians, also known as Dairi, who are the descendants of the Wiyátamánwit Confederacy and settlers from both Latium and Ottonia.

A hybrid regime, the Sovereign Consulate aims to provide a safe haven for the historically-abused population of Norinnians, and detach itself from centuries of Enyaman, Elatian, and Tsurushimese colonial rule; as such anti-imperialism is directly enshrined in its constitution. Norinnia declared independence from Enyama on 2 June 2021, after Wazhenaby troops entered the conflict on the side of the Democratic Coalition; it was preceded by the Independence League of Northern Niborea, which formed in 2019. It continues to claim northern Greater Enyama, a portion of northwestern Elatia formerly belonging to the Enyaman Republic and now controlled by Elatia, as well as the Viggotoro exclave and the city of Ala Nova, which has traditionally been a nexus of Norinnian culture.

Following the New Treaty of Karasuna in August of 2022, Norinnia achieved full independence, with both East Enyama and West Enyama recognizing its formal independence from the former state. As one of the world's newest nations, it remains largely dependent on economic networks of the old Enyama. Internationally, Norinnia has been a member of Civitas since late 2022 and has retained friendly relations with Latium, Ghant, Gristol-Serkonos, and Yisrael, as well as political elements of Ottonia.

Consul Flavil Lalok

Norinnia formally styles itself a "consulate", though this title comes from the ancient Latin republican title of consul and not the more up-to-date variant of this term used in the context of diplomatic delegations. In Norinnian, the title is Viyavatiam, roughly "leader among leaders", a word of Wiyátamánwit origin. As a newly-created state arising from a pan-ethnic independence movement, Norinnia's government can be hard to classify, though it is a de jure executive democracy in which the Consul, the head of state and government, is chosen by the Senate, which is in turn chosen by direct election. Political analysts have compared Norinnnia to the concept of a delegative democracy or anocracy. The current Consul, Flavil Lalok, took power after his predecessor and Norinnian founder Basho Tagron stepped down in late 2022 through direct election, albeit in a political environment in which alternate visions of the state and opposition in the form of political parties has not yet formed.

Since 2023, Norinnia has also cited itself as a successor to both the original Latin colony of Ala Nova as well as the Wiyátamánwit Confederacy.
