Seulbyeni (Anikatian 슬볘니) officially Seulbyeni Special Administrative Region (Anikatian: 슬볘니 자치구), is an autonomous region of Anikatia, with its capital at Seulbyeni City. As a result of it's colonial history and economic freedoms region has developed into a major global trade hub and financial centre, Seulbyeni ranked as among the most important financial centre in Pardes. The service economy, characterised by low taxation and free trade, has been regarded as the most laissez-faire economic policies within Anikatia.
History
Seulbyeni was one of the early settlement areas, it became a centre of Arthuristan colonial influence in the 16th through 19th centuries. The region had operated as the Dominion of Seulbyeni a semi-independent colonial outpost for the Arthuristan government, this briefly changed during the Great Eastern War the islands were invaded and taken over by Prestonian Imperial forces. After the war they were once again returned to Arthuristan control until the Seulbyeni Islands Crisis in the 1990s where the DSRA forcefully retook the islands bringing them back into Anikatian control.
Geography
Location
Seulbyeni made up of a collection of islands situated along the north-eastern coast of the Anikatian mainland. As much of Seulbyeni's terrain is hilly to mountainous with steep slopes, less than 25% of the territory's landmass is developed, and about 40% of the remaining land area is reserved as country parks and nature reserves. Low altitude vegetation in Seulbyeni is dominated by secondary rainforests, as the primary forest was mostly cleared and higher altitudes are dominated by grasslands.
Resources
The area of Seulbyeni is renowned for its rich tropical landscape and unique cultural mix of Arthuristan and Anikatian background. The limited flat land created a necessity for dense infrastructure, and the small islands became a centre of modern architecture with Seulbyeni City becoming a major modern city with a highly developed public transportation network. Outside of this economic hub the rest of the island remains fairly underdeveloped consisting of only a small number of towns and fishing villages.
Cities and parks
The main cities in the autonomous regions are Seulbyeni City (the regional capital), along with the much smaller towns of IIan-bou, Gurkni-he, Dorgon, Niyalma, Ja-in and Sargan.
Climate
The climate lies in the humid subtropical climate zone, summer is hot and humid with occasional showers and thunderstorms, and warm air coming from the south-west. Summer is when typhoons are most likely, sometimes resulting in flooding or landslides. Winters are mild and usually start sunny, becoming cloudier towards February; the occasional cold front brings strong, cooling winds from the north. The most temperate seasons are spring, which can be changeable, and autumn, which is generally sunny and dry.
