Solis Films Entertainment Inc., known as Solis Films or abbreviated as SF, is a publicly-owned, state-authorized, film studio in the Empire Of Makko Oko. Solis Films was founded on April 22nd, 2023 after the promulgation of Order #4 by the Emperor at the time, Conall Solis. Solis Films was founded with a government charter, making it a government-owned entity upon inception, and Conall had wished to start a domestic film production business to help resolve the need on foreign companies and their resources. Solis Films is owned 50/50 between the Imperial Crown and the Government.
History
Pre-Founding
Before Solis Films was founded, there was no government involvement in the film production industry, and the government had grown accustomed to the practice of using foreign resources to produce the nation's media works. Some attempts at major film production domestically have failed, such examples including Oko Heritage Films (2003), The Tracyn Group (Mid-2007) and MOFO (2010). The only successful companies in the industry domestically are all small-timers and aren't equipped to handle large-scale productions. Ones who want movies made such as MKBO use the same in-house facilities that they do everything else, removing the need for them.
Founding
In February of 2023, Emperor Conall Solis went into internal discussions with the Minister of Labor over how to best improve the industry and lower unemployment. In addition, Conall wanted to remove an area of concern where the nation relied on foreigners to provide the necessary resources. That led to drafting and talks with MKBO and others in March of 2023, and ultimately, on April 21st, Emperor's Order #4 was enacted to incorporate Solis Films.
